{"id":3693,"date":"2022-02-04T12:32:47","date_gmt":"2022-02-04T12:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/p12021\/?p=3693"},"modified":"2022-02-04T12:32:47","modified_gmt":"2022-02-04T12:32:47","slug":"week-ending-4-2-22","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/p12021\/2022\/02\/04\/week-ending-4-2-22\/","title":{"rendered":"Week ending 4.2.22"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 3:<\/p>\n<p>Literacy:\u00a0 We have written our Space Adventure narrative text following the correct structure.\u00a0 Our spelling pattern this week was qu.\u00a0 In groups using the PM Reading, we have discussed the facts and textual non fiction features.\u00a0 We are continuing to learn about joins in our handwriting.<\/p>\n<p>Numeracy:\u00a0 We continue to work on subtraction learning ways to subtract two digit numbers from two digit numbers.\u00a0 In practical maths we have worked on 3D shapes and their properties.\u00a0 We can describe a shape using the terms edges, faces (curved\/flat) or vertices.\u00a0 \u00a0We created skeleton models of these shapes using straws.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3673\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/p12021\/uploads\/sites\/3708\/2022\/02\/01081256\/9FCFF11D-B337-40A7-B0C8-7650E39969F3-300x171.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"171\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/p12021\/uploads\/sites\/3708\/2022\/02\/01081256\/9FCFF11D-B337-40A7-B0C8-7650E39969F3-300x171.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/p12021\/uploads\/sites\/3708\/2022\/02\/01081256\/9FCFF11D-B337-40A7-B0C8-7650E39969F3-1024x584.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/p12021\/uploads\/sites\/3708\/2022\/02\/01081256\/9FCFF11D-B337-40A7-B0C8-7650E39969F3-768x438.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/public\/p12021\/uploads\/sites\/3708\/2022\/02\/01081256\/9FCFF11D-B337-40A7-B0C8-7650E39969F3.jpeg 1260w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Throughout the week, we have been learning about Scotland.\u00a0 We know that the River Tay is the longest river in Scotland and that Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland.\u00a0 We have identified some Scottish cities;\u00a0 Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Perth, Dundee and Stirling.\u00a0 We learned about St Andrew and the Scottish flag;\u00a0 typical Scottish food;\u00a0 the National Animal &#8211; the unicorn;\u00a0 the National Flower &#8211; the thistle and some famous Scottish people.<\/p>\n<p>We thoroughly enjoyed our Scottish afternoon watching the whole school virtual assembly.\u00a0 Thank you to Mrs Clyde for providing a delicious Scottie dog shortbread biscuit.<\/p>\n<p>Rory liked looking at all the Scottish art work that the whole school had worked on.\u00a0 Kelsey liked the Scottish dancers.\u00a0 Gray liked the McCoo&#8217;s that Primary 3 made.<\/p>\n<p>Eli, Drew and Ayla sang Highland Cathedral to the class while Emily danced.<\/p>\n<p>Our PE lessons with Mrs Edge have been throwing and catching balls and shooting in basketball.\u00a0 We also did some different types of exercises.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week in Primary 3: Literacy:\u00a0 We have written our Space Adventure narrative text following the correct structure.\u00a0 Our spelling pattern this week was qu.\u00a0 In groups using the PM Reading, we have discussed the facts and textual non fiction features.\u00a0 We are continuing to learn about joins in our handwriting.
