Together we have been continuing to learn our Scottish poem – The Sair Finger.\u00a0 We have added gesture and thought about volume and being clear when we speak.\u00a0 We have recited it individually, in pairs and in groups.\u00a0 Well done everyone.<\/p>\n
We have now planned our last narrative piece of writing about a Space Journey.\u00a0 We created an astronaut, an alien and a planet.\u00a0 We have thought about different adjectives to describe them.\u00a0 Next week, we will use everything we have learned and write our narrative text.<\/p>\n
In numeracy, we are now working on subtraction.\u00a0 We are trying to use our number bonds and link our addition learning to subtraction.<\/p>\n
We have continued to look at Similarities and Differences in our Health and Wellbeing work and this week we have considered stereotypes and gender biased expectations.\u00a0 \u00a0We know that is is okay to be who you want to be, that we are unique and that we can be any kind of boy or girl.<\/p>\n
We have had fun hearing about the story of Grey Friar’s Bobby and we used drama (in role, using language in role and still pictures) to retell parts of the story.<\/p>\n
We are learning to work collaboratively.\u00a0 \u00a0The skills we have worked on are:\u00a0 getting into a group quickly and quietly and gathering all necessary resources.\u00a0 Today’s task was to gather all materials needed to make a jam sandwich.\u00a0 \u00a0After doing that, we had fun making the sandwich and of course, eating the sandwich.<\/p>\n
Each day, 4 children have been chosen to be – Me a Special Person.\u00a0 The class then write something positive around the self portrait.\u00a0 The children are absolutely delighted once their portrait is returned and they read the lovely things that have been written about them.<\/p>\n
We used the iPads this week learning about some of the Notes App features.\u00a0 We got to practise our spelling patterns on Spelling City and our number work on Hit to Button or Topmarks Symmetry.<\/p>\n
