Primary 3 have been working on <strong>The Sair Finger by Walter Wingate.\u00a0<\/strong> We have learned a verse each day and have enthusiastically stood in front of the class in pairs or in groups saying each newly learned verse.\u00a0 Well done everyone.\u00a0 \u00a0Next week we will be thinking about making sure we are speaking loudly and clearly, at a good pace and adding some actions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You\u2019ve hurt your finger? Puir wee man!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Your pinkie? Deary me!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Noo, juist you haud it that way till<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I get my specs and see!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>My, so it is- and there\u2019s the skelf!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Noo, dinna greet nae mair,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>See there \u2013 my needle\u2019s gotten\u2019t out!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m sure that wasna sair?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And noo, tae make it hale the morn,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Put on a wee bit saw,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And tie a bonnie hankie roun\u2019t,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Noo, there na \u2013 rin awa!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Your finger sair ana\u2019 ? Ye rogue .<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ye\u2019re only lettin on!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Weel, weel, then \u2013 see noo, there ye are,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Row\u2019d up the same as John !<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We read The Gruffalo in Scots and enjoyed working out the meaning of the Scottish words.<\/p>\n<p>In numeracy, we have been revising all the strategies we had been taught in addition.\u00a0 We have been learning and chanting our number bonds to 100.\u00a0 \u00a0Please continue to practise using Topmarks Hit the Button.<\/p>\n<p>We have continued to work on long vowel letter patterns in spelling and our words are on the website Spelling City.<\/p>\n<p>In Health and Wellbeing we completed our work on Similarities, Diversity and Respect studying what we have in common and what is different.\u00a0 We then chose four children to be &#8211; Me, as a Special Person and wrote all the lovely things about them around their self-portrait. Next week, every day a different set of four children will be chosen.<\/p>\n<p>For 2022 we thought about a goal and designed a trainer with our New Year&#8217;s Resolution.<\/p>\n<p>Rory &#8211; to learn to play the guitar<\/p>\n<p>Logan &#8211; to make a very big Hot Wheels Track<\/p>\n<p>Drew &#8211; to improve my gaming skills<\/p>\n<p>Mia &#8211; to be kinder to my brother<\/p>\n<p>Lucy &#8211; to get better at football<\/p>\n<p>Ayla &#8211; to spend more time with my bunnies<\/p>\n<p>Well done Primary 3, you have all worked very hard and settled back into the school routine after your holiday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year and welcome back.
