{"id":1720,"date":"2020-08-28T16:25:42","date_gmt":"2020-08-28T15:25:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/p12021\/?p=1720"},"modified":"2020-08-28T16:52:48","modified_gmt":"2020-08-28T15:52:48","slug":"another-busy-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sb\/p12021\/2020\/08\/28\/another-busy-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Another busy week in P2\/1!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another week has flown!<\/p>\n<p>This week we\u2019ve continued with our double phonics, learning <em>oi<\/em> as in <em>oil<\/em>, <em>coin<\/em>, <em>foil<\/em> and <em>coil<\/em>.\u00a0 We\u2019ve also made a great start with our independent writing, looking at building descriptive sentences from a labelled picture of the Stickman.<\/p>\n<p>In numeracy we\u2019re continuing to focus on numbers to 20, for some revisiting formation as well as well as some addition and subtraction. We&#8217;ve been taking our learning outside, today going on a number hunt!<\/p>\n<p>Also for our Stickman topic, we\u2019ve been looking at the landscape in the book and using lots of different materials to create our own landscape scene. We also looked at the view from outside the classroom and talked about how the colours and detail fade the further away they are. We then painted our background, gradually going from dark to light, and drew and cut out trees \u2013 one that is here, one that is near and one that is far \u2013 and added leaves and branches with oil pastels. The next plan is to add stick frames.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, in our bread experiment we are excited to see mould growing on the bread we touched with our dirty hands! We\u2019ll continue to watch and share more next week.
