We\u2019ve had a very busy few weeks in P1b.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re continuing with our minibeast topic. We have been looking at the life cycle of a butterfly and were very excited with our updates from Miss Finlayson\u2019s class about their hungry caterpillars who turned into beautiful butterflies. We made some butterflies for our gallery wall, mixing paint to create our own unique colours and then adding symmetrical spots.<\/p>\n

In literacy we\u2019ve now finished our double sounds and will spend the new few weeks consolidating and working on word and sentence building.<\/p>\n

In numeracy we\u2019ve started looking at number words to twenty. We\u2019re doing a great job. We have been reading and writing them using base tens, cuisenaire roads and lollipop sticks.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve also started reading Peter Rabbit and related stories. We\u2019re also talking about how we need to look after our garden and how Peter Rabbit and his friends would not be welcome!!<\/p>\n
