Some people said it was tricky but a little challenge helps us learn.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the puzzle:<\/p>\n<p>Chico&#8217;s cards are <strong>all different.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a number from <strong>1 to 8<\/strong> on each.<\/p>\n<p>Chico has chosen <strong>four cards<\/strong> that <strong>add up to 20.<\/strong> What are they?<\/p>\n<p>There are 7 possibilities. Try to find them all.<\/p>\n<p>Most pairs found it helpful to use playing cards. They listed their answers e.g. 7 + 3 + 6 + 4. We soon discovered that our bonds to 10 helped us. Some pairs were fast to use two cards to make 11 then two to make 9.<\/p>\n<p>We had to check that we hadn&#8217;t repeated a solution e.g. 6 + 4 + 7 + 3 is the same as 7 + 4 + 3 + 6<\/p>\n<p>Try our problem.
