We looked at techniques used by artist Nick Rowland, namely chalk and oil pastels on black paper with layers of splashed or drizzled paint on top, and thought that this would make great volcano pictures.<\/p>\n

We started by drawing labelled diagrams of a cross section of a volcano then used these ideas to make our pictures.
\nCan you spot any ash clouds? We also know that these are called \u2018pyroclastic clouds\u2019.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed the sunny afternoon to flick the paint outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
