We have been writing rhyming couplets this week where we had to come up with lots of rhyming words, but also had to think about the pattern and number of syllables in each line.\u00a0 We enjoyed writing about colours but found getting the right number of syllables quite tricky. Here is one by Allan and Harris:<\/p>\n
Colours<\/strong><\/p>\n I really like the colour pink<\/span><\/p>\n Because it always makes me blink.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And if I try to rhyme with red,<\/span><\/p>\n It always makes me think of bed.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I often use the colour blue,<\/span><\/p>\n It always makes me think of you.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n My favourite is the colour orange,<\/span><\/p>\n The only thing that rhymes is SPORANGE! <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" We are poets and we know it!
