Geography

The aim of Geography at JGC is for pupils to explore and understand the differences in cultures, political systems, economies, landscapes and environments across the world, and the links between them. Studying Geography will help you to be more socially and environmentally sensitive, better informed, and more responsible as a citizen.

Some of the subject-specific skills you may hone by studying geography include the ability to think ‘spatially’ across multiple scales, preparing effective maps and diagrams, conducting fieldwork and data collection.

Your studies in geography will also develop some more general skills which will be useful in the future. These include developing a reasoned argument, critical thinking, the ability to think about moral and ethical issues, teamwork, communication, and problem solving.
