Inspire AI
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now embedded in everyday learning and teaching. Inspire AI provides clear, practical guidance to support safe, purposeful and responsible use of AI across schools in Scottish Borders Council.

Our Approach
The use of AI in SBC schools will be:
- Purposeful – Used where it adds clear value to learning, teaching or workload.
- Responsible – Protecting personal data, safeguarding wellbeing and maintaining academic integrity.
- Inclusive – Reducing barriers, improving accessibility and supporting equitable outcomes.
- Ethical – Upholding fairness, authenticity and the integrity of national qualifications delivered through Qualifications Scotland.
- Sustainable – Promoting balanced, thoughtful use that protects deep thinking, professional judgement and long-term digital wellbeing.

Our Focus
Our Inspire AI strategy is structured around three core areas:
- AI for Productivity: Reducing unnecessary workload while maintaining professional standards.
- AI for Creativity: Developing creative skills, enhancing digital expression and enabling interdisciplinary learning.
- AI for Supporting all Learners: Removing barriers, strengthening differentiation and advancing inclusive practice.
