Spectacular Space!

As part of our science focus, we are learning about Space. Last week we used books (yes, really!) to research some key questions about our Solar System.

We split into groups and each person was allocated a question to research the answer to. Then each person fed back to the rest of the group so we all ended with answers to all of the questions. This was a great way to investigate for ourselves as well as gaining experience using non-fiction texts. Each child had individual responsibility to answer their question and help their group to complete the task.

Square of Numbers – Problem Solving

This week we used our knowledge of the four processes to complete a number square. We had to use the digits 1 – 8 to plus, minus, multiply and divide so that all the problem added up correctly.

When we had found a few various answers, we then created our own squares by mixing up the order of the symbols. This was really tricky and made us work hard!

Can you find more than one correct solution?
