Go Animate

Today we made animations on the website Go Animate. We all found it fun to create funny animations. There were different animations like a wildlife one or a spce one(which looked like Halo). We are hoping to some more animation next term – so this website was good to help us learn about what is involved in making an animation.

You can check out the website here.

Dancing at P.E

We are looking at ‘Inventions’ for our topic. So, at P.E we are creating a special inventions dance, which includes- the clock, the radio and the television. We dance to these songs,- Hung up, radio Gaga and television. These songs were written by Madonna, Queen and Hard- Fi.The targets included jumping, movement, imagination amd concentration. We have had to work together to create our dances and we will be performing them to the school during the last week of term.

Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo

The class have been reading ‘Running Wild’ by Michael Morpurgo as part of a ‘Keys to Literacy’ project. This time we were looking at the key “Description Detective”. We had to scan through the chapter and pick out great description. We were looking for adjectives, similies, metaphors, aliteration, onomatopoeia words etc. We also were looking at ‘Scene Stealer where we had to draw a detailed picture of our favourite part of the chapter.

“…the shadow came into the light, flickered into a flame of orange fire, and became a tiger…”

“…a toucan flew off a sudden flash of colour…”

“…the tiger was right below me now, gazing up at me out of unblinking amber eyes, magnificent, awesome, teriffying…”

Square It Up!

We had this problem to do in class today –

“You need six drinking straws the same length. Cut two of them in half. You now have eight straws, four long and four short. Arrange the straws to make 3 squares all the same size”

We worked in pairs to try and solve the problem – it wasn’t easy but most people managed to find a solution.

You could try this problem at home – can you see if you can solve it by having no straws sticking out the side this time?
