Prestwick Cluster Transition Project for Pre-school Children in Early Years

Entering Primary One Provision 

We would like to share an exciting update with you that will improve ‘transition’ for Pre School children across the Prestwick Cluster. The Prestwick Cluster covers the following centres:

• Space Place Early Years Centre
• Monkton Early Years Centre
• Symington Early Years Centre
• Kingcase Early Years Centre
• Glenburn Early Years Centre
• Heathfield Early Years Centre
• St Ninian’s Early Years Centre
• Fly High Early Years Centre
• Pine Trees Early Years Centre

We have devised a Steering Group of educational professionals across the centres and agreed to have a consistent approach to “transition” for pre-school children. We feel that working collectively across centres this will have a streamlined approach to planning next steps in learning. This is an ambitious project that involves early years professionals designing a plan for children that offers consistency in transition activities across early years to primary 1.

This session we are piloting a Prestwick Cluster transition project. The project focuses on Literacy and aims to give children and parents within our Prestwick Cluster a common experience to share on entering primary one to support with their transition to school.
