Southcraig School offers young people from the age of 14, the chance to achieve the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Award. Over the years, staff at Southcraig have offered inclusive support to many young people; helping them to develop their individual Skills, Physical development, Volunteering opportunities, and supporting them on the highly anticipated Expeditions, enabling them to achieve awards at Bronze and Silver levels. Duke of Edinburgh is something which has almost become a ‘rite of passage’ for many of the young people at Southcraig, and staff always comment on the great camaraderie, teamwork, increased independence, confidence and importantly the happiness, they witness from the young people, during their Duke of Edinburgh experience.
