(The term parent is used to refer to parents, guardians and carers.)
As a school we recognise that parents/carers are the most important influence in a child’s life and your involvement in the life of the school is valuable. Any educational initiative can only be fully effective if there is partnership between parents/carers, children and providers. We understand that you want your child to succeed and children need educational and emotional support if they are to succeed. Working together can provide this most effectively.
To achieve this we try to make every aspect of the school climate open, helpful, and friendly.
Our communications are frequent, clear, and two-way. You are treated as partners in the educational process, and we will make good use of your expertise and willingness to enhance your own learning and that of your child and other children
Establishing your views and opinions of the school are important to help improve experiences for all our children.
We would encourage you as a parent/carer to participate in the following
· Attend the two parents’ evenings and information evening.
· Attend multiagency meetings (TAC)
· Discuss and comment on your child’s “Individual Educational Plan”.
· Participate in Family and Adult Learning events organised by school
· Join the Parent Forum.
· Support school fundraising activities.
· Get in touch with the school if you have any questions or concerns about your child.
· Reinforce the school code of conduct.
· Work with us to support behaviour strategies.
