Better preparing school leavers for the world of work

Work placements provide a young person with the opportunity to experience exciting, hands-on learning within a real work environment. Such opportunities build on the lessons learned in the classroom and enable learners to put skills for work into practice under the supervision and guidance of an industry mentor.’, Education Scotland

In the senior phase young, people can choose work placements as a pathway within the senior phase.  Learning can take place in a wide variety of work-based settings to meet the diverse needs of young people and employers.
