{"id":294,"date":"2020-08-13T09:20:31","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T09:20:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/sacstem\/?page_id=294"},"modified":"2020-11-13T15:24:16","modified_gmt":"2020-11-13T15:24:16","slug":"sserc","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/sacstem\/sserc\/","title":{"rendered":"SSERC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/\">Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC)<\/a> supports all 32 local authorities in Scotland with their delivery of STEM.<\/p>\n<p>SSERC&#8217;s support covers three main areas;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provision of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/professional-learning\/calendar\/\">professional learning for practitioners<\/a> from Early Years, primary, secondary and technicians (both school and college)<\/li>\n<li>Provision of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/login\/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sserc.org.uk%2Fhealth-safety%2F\">Advisory Service<\/a> on areas such as Risk Assessment and Health and Safety in the delivery of STEM subjects (you will need to register to access this material).<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/wider-engagement\/\"> STEM Ambassadors in Scotland and STEM engagement<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>South Ayrshire Council currently has two clusters (Ayr and Girvan) taking part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/SSERC18_PCP-A5-WEB2-3.pdf\">SSERC Primary Cluster Programme<\/a> further information on our progress can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/sacstem\/sserc-primary-cluster-programme\/\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 Both the Belmont and Carrick Academy Clusters have completed this programme previously.<\/p>\n<p>SSERC have released guidance on <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Organising-and-managing-hands-on-STEM-activities-V2.pdf\">Organising and managing hands-on STEM in Early Years and Primary<\/a><\/em> while meeting COVID-19 guidelines, as well as well as guidance on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sserc.org.uk\/health-safety\/practical-work-at-home\/\"><em>Practical Work at Home<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC) supports all 32 local authorities in Scotland with their delivery of STEM.
