{"id":259,"date":"2020-08-11T14:35:11","date_gmt":"2020-08-11T14:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/sacstem\/?page_id=259"},"modified":"2020-12-09T10:58:16","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T10:58:16","slug":"funding","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/sacstem\/funding\/","title":{"rendered":"Funding"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t let lack of funding be a limiting factor when planning exciting STEM activities &#8211; check out the links and sources below!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.see-science.co.uk\/whats-on\/grants\/\">See Science<\/a> list of possible funding sources.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/pstt.org.uk\/application\/files\/5515\/9912\/9099\/Funding_Opportunities_2020-2021.pdf\">Primary Science Teaching Trust<\/a> list of funding for 2020\/21.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsb.org.uk\/get-involved\/grants\/big-biology-day-grant\"><u>Big Biology Day Grant 2020<\/u><\/a> provide up to \u00a3500 for hands on festival activities<\/li>\n<li>Up to \u00a31000 can be granted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rsc.org\/Membership\/Networking\/InterestGroups\/BMCS\/education-support-group\/enhanced-equipment.asp\">Royal Society of Chemistry<\/a> to fund equipment which is out with the school&#8217;s budget for practical chemistry activities.\u00a0 Quarterly applications.<\/li>\n<li>Funding for sustainable school-based STEM projects can be applied for through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stem.org.uk\/rolls-royce-schools-prize-science-technology\">Rolls-Royce Schools Prize for Science and Technology<\/a> with \u00a31000 granted in the first instance, and a further \u00a35000 for finalists.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iop.org\/about\/grants\/school\/page_38824.html\">Institute of Physics<\/a> will grant up to \u00a3600 for <strong>new<\/strong> projects and events linked to teaching physics or engineering.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/royalsociety.org\/grants-schemes-awards\/grants\/partnership-grants\/\">The Royal Society Partnership Grants<\/a> offer up to \u00a33000 for schools to allow them to run STEM investigation projects in partnership with research or industry professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Schools in an area of deprivation are able to apply for \u00a3500 from the <a href=\"http:\/\/ernestcooktrust.org.uk\/grants\/ect-outdoor-essentials\/\">Ernest Cook Trust Outdoor Essentials Grant<\/a> to carry out outdoor learning which has a wider benefit to families and their local communities.<\/li>\n<li>Schools which have not previously applied to <a href=\"http:\/\/armourersprod.tincan.co.uk\/funding-grants\/science-schools\/primary-school-science-grant-application-form\">Armourers and Brasiers&#8217; Company &#8211; Primary School Science Grant<\/a>, can apply for up to \u00a3600 to buy equipment for practical science activities and enrichment projects.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iop.org\/about\/strategy\/challenge-fund\">Institute of Physics Challenge Fund<\/a> for those who are keen to &#8216;<em>maximise the societal and economic benefit of physics by supporting innovative ideas, programmes and partnerships that accelerate and sustain large-scale change&#8217;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Don&#8217;t let lack of funding be a limiting factor when planning exciting STEM activities &#8211; check out the links and sources below!
