In October 2017, Education Scotland published the STEM Education and Training Strategy after a period of consultation.
The aims of the strategy were;
- to build Scotland’s capacity to deliver excellent STEM learning
- to close equity gaps in participation and attainment in STEM
- to inspire young people and adults to study STEM
- to provide better connections between STEM education and training, and the needs of the Scottish labour market
From this, a set of key performance indicators were created, and based on them, annual progress reports have been created.
