The child must be aged between 4 and 16 and resident in Ayrshire for a minimum of 6 months. The application must be made by the parent\/guardian, and will then be verified by a professional who knows and works in support of the family &#8211; one of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guidance Teacher at the school<\/li>\n<li>CAB adviser who knows the child and advises the family<\/li>\n<li>Librarian who knows the child and advises the family<\/li>\n<li>Local elected Councillor who knows the child and advises the family<\/li>\n<li>Job Centre representative who knows the child and advises the family<\/li>\n<li>Staff representative of a charity registered with the Charity Commission working in the local community who knows the child and supports the family (including food banks and other community groups)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you intend to use the pupil&#8217;s Guidance Teacher as the verifier, please contact the school before making the application.<br \/>\nFor more information, and to apply online, head to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/digitalpovertyalliance.org\/tech4families-terms-and-conditions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/digitalpovertyalliance.org\/tech4families-terms-and-conditions\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\">Best Start Grant and Scottish Child Payment<\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">The Scottish Government make payments to eligible families from pregnancy to when the child is of age to start school. More details at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/best-start-grant-best-start-foods\/best-start-apply\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/best-start-grant-best-start-foods\/best-start-apply<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0\u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/scottish-child-payment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/www.mygov.scot\/scottish-child-payment<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\">Warm Home Discount Scheme<\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">By law each energy provider must apply a discount (usually \u00a3140-\u00a3150) to the energy bill of eligible customers.\u00a0The money is not paid directly to you but is taken off of your energy bills between October and March. Each provider has slightly different eligibility criteria and application must be made on their website. Applications are usually allowed from August but each firm applies a different closing date, so best to apply as early as you can. Search the web for your energy supplier&#8217;s name and add &#8220;warm home discount&#8221; to find out more.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<h2 class=\"wsite-content-title\">South Ayrshire Foodbank<\/h2>\n<div class=\"paragraph\">The school has previously arranged referrals to the South Ayrshire Foodbank.
