Education City:

I have set two activities that focus on the two sounds we were learning about last week. These sounds are oi and ue.

I have also set a reading task. This task helps to develop your child’s questioning skills whilst reading. It promotes using the pictures to deepen understanding and ensure that along with being able to read the words within a text the child is also developing their ability to understand the text being read.

Numeracy:

We have been learning about analogue clocks. The children have been creating their own clocks and learning how to read and write O’clock times. At home you could create your own clock to practise with. The children know how to space out the numbers on a clock face correctly and they know that the numbers go round in a clockwise direction. Ask them to use the hands of the clock to show you different O’clock times.

So sorry, but it was pointed out to me (thank you! ) that I had actually made an error on the newsletter about PE days.

Homework tasks Week Beginning 26.04.21

Education City:

Please log in to Education City and complete the tasks set for our class. The  tasks this week will be focused on the sounds we are learning in class. You will find one activity for each sound.

There is also a link to a topic tool for cvc words and an activity sheet on Education city to help you  spell words correctly.

At school we have been learning all about days of the week, seasons and months of the year. We have been focusing on how to order these correctly and how to read and write the days of the week. At home you could create flash cards with your child that say the days of the week on them. You can play games where you have to sequence the cards or you could turn over one card at a time and say which day comes before and after that day.

We are still not allowed to send reading books home, however the children do get a new reading book each week. At home to encourage and develop your child’s reading skills please read aloud with your child, share stories with them. Even if they are not reading it’s hugely beneficial to let them hear you read.  Question them about the story and allow them to ask you questions about the text.

   Today is the last day of home learning before the February holiday.
   I wanted to say a gigantic well done to everyone  for all your hard work. I am super proud of all of you and look forward to seeing you back at school soon. It’s a beautiful sunny day today, I hope you all have lots of fun.  🥰🥰🥰 🤩🤩🤩🥰🥰🥰
