{"id":37,"date":"2022-12-06T19:18:35","date_gmt":"2022-12-06T19:18:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/ourlessons\/?page_id=37"},"modified":"2023-02-20T07:38:42","modified_gmt":"2023-02-20T07:38:42","slug":"practise-applying","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/sa\/ourlessons\/our-lessons\/practise-applying\/","title":{"rendered":"Plenary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In &#8216;The Teaching Delusion 3&#8217;, Bruce Robertson describes two purposes of plenaries:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sum up, in other words restate the main points of the lesson to make them clear in pupils&#8217; minds<\/li>\n<li>Gather evidence, in order to find out what has actually been learned and inform future teaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Robertson suggests that pupils should be reminded of what they were supposed to be learning by revisiting the learning intentions and then the success criteria should be turned to in order to evaluate the extent to which this has been achieved.
