Star Room

In the Star Room we enjoy learning, playing and having fun together! We are a term time placement EYC.

We enjoy PE on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday including Mini Movers and Mini Kickers. We also enjoy baking, outdoor play and getting out in our local area!

We also enjoy accessing the school sensory room and reading with our Primary 5/6 reading buddies!

This is our class charter!

March Update

The star room children have been learning to show respect for others, resources, and property, looking at syllables in words to develop our listening skills, understanding information in simple graphs and charts, exploring a variety of products that are related to engineering disciplines. We have also been exploring and sorting a variety of materials into groups dependent on their properties such as sinking and floating, sharing items into smaller groups, by splitting a whole into smaller parts and identify words that start with the same sound.

February Update

The EYC children in the Star Room, have been learning to recognise and differentiate between letters and symbols, find and identify missing numbers on a number line and become more independent when making choices about their learning.  We have also been inventing our own stories, looking at routines and events, linking this with times and seasons.

We have also explored feelings and have been talking about different emotions. The children have displayed an interest in making their own ice cream shop, this was built using the large outdoor blocks – we then made ice cream playdough and sensory sand.
