Welcome to Primary 2/3/4! Our teachers are Miss Hughes (Monday and Tuesday) and Mrs Riddle (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday).

November Update

P2/3/4 have had a busy month! We celebrated Book Week Scotland with a book scavenger hunt, a cosy PJ day and a trip to Carnegie Library, were we all got to take a book back to school to read. In class, we have been learning about sound and vibration and have really enjoyed exploring different instruments, creating our own and having a go of Mrs Riddle’s guitar! We have also been celebrating the Into Film Festival by watching Rio and exploring friendships and emotions through this.

January Update

What a busy first month back at school after our winter holiday! P2/3/4 have been enjoying exploring Space as our focus for our learning. We have started to explore what space is, what is on planet earth and why we have day and night! We are looking forward to find out more about the sun and it’s movement, the moon and will be starting to explore the solar system! We have enjoyed making our collages of Planet Earth. For writing, we have been creating our own portal stories where a character goes through a portal and ends up in Space. We have been wonderful at adding in descriptive vocabulary to describe our setting. In numeracy, we have been learning how to multiply and divide using concrete resources, arrays and sharing into equal groups to help us. In PE, we have been learning new skills through how to play mini handball with Ryan which has been super fun!
