Welcome to Girvan Primary School

Girvan Primary School is a place to learn, to belong and to grow. Ours is a community defined by kindness, ambition and respect, where children are encouraged to achieve their best, support one another and develop the confidence and skills to flourish in an ever-changing world.

Situated in the heart of the town within the historic former Girvan Academy building, our school has been bringing children together on one site since 1992. We are proud of our rich heritage, strong sense of community and exciting vision for the future. With extensive grounds, a peaceful outdoor learning quad and progress with our new school building well under way, we continue to look for ways to enhance the learning experiences and opportunities available to our children.

At Girvan Primary, we believe education is about much more than academic achievement alone. It is about discovering interests, building friendships, developing resilience and creating lasting memories. We want every child to feel valued, included and inspired to reach their full potential whilst maintaining a love of lifelong learning.

Our values of Ready, Respectful and Safe underpin everything we do. These simple but powerful principles help create a nurturing environment where children can thrive both academically and personally. Through high-quality learning and teaching, alongside a wide range of targeted supports and interventions, our dedicated staff team works tirelessly to ensure every learner is supported, challenged and successful.

One of our greatest strengths is the partnership we share with families and the wider community. Parents, carers and partners play a vital role in school life, and we are fortunate to benefit from the ongoing support of our local community. Together, we create opportunities that enrich children’s learning and strengthen their sense of belonging.

Girvan Primary is a happy, welcoming and aspirational school where every child matters. We are proud of what we achieve together and excited about the future that lies ahead.

I encourage you to visit our school and experience our warm and supportive community for yourself. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to the Girvan Primary School family.
