We came to nursery today wearing our fancy dress costumes and our Pudsey outfits to raise funds for Children in Need. The staff donated some cakes, some were made by the children and we set up a cake stall to sell them to our families. We were even lucky enough to get a visit from Pudsey Bear himself!!
Our Sunshine Room and Rainbow Room parents, carers and families were invited into the nursery today to enjoy part of the session with their child. They were able to see our new freeflow system in operation and their children were happy to show them around our centre, both indoors and outdoors.
We had lots of fun at our Halloween parties today in the Sunshine Room, Rainbow Room and Ladybird Room. We got dressed up, dooked for apples, played party games, carved pumpkins, made magic potions and had some tasty treats for snack!
We even made our own cakes to sell to our families to raise some money for our nursery. Thanks to everyone who bought them…we raised £94.
Thanks to all our parents, families and carers who came along today to help out on our Sponsored Walk around Victory Park. We raised the fantastic sum of £1,182.69…Well done everyone!

As our centre was recently successful in obtaining Carrick Futures funding, we were fortunate enough to be able to arrange a series of visits for all of our children to Culzean Estate with Adventure Centre for Education (ACE).
Our children, along with some parents and carers, have enjoyed exploring the outdoor environment. ACE have planned lots of fun games and activities for us such a treasure hunts, bug hunts and nature walks.
You can see from the photos how much fun we are having!
The children from the Ladybird room enjoyed a visit to the beach on Tuesday. They made sand angels, built sandcastles and had lots of fun splashing in the water. The sun even shone for them!
It certainly doesn’t happen very often but this was our beautiful outdoor area yesterday afternoon….taken just as children and staff were about to leave the building to go home❄️
We had a very successful Helmet Safety Workshop yesterday which family and carers were invited to take part in. We learned all about the importance of wearing a helmet when using our bikes and scooters using real eggs in an experiment. The adults were also shown how to fit our helmets correctly.
If any parents would like some advice or tips on how to correctly fit or adjust your child’s helmet please speak to their key worker.
Our children, supported by some parent helpers, have been out and about in the local community visiting Girvan’s elderly residents in Kirk Care, Hillcrest and at Nursery Court. We have enjoyed our joint activities such as art and crafts, bowling, singing songs and table top games. We have had some really positive feedback from these centres and our kids have loved getting out and about, especially when we get to go there on the bus!
Well done to all our boys, girls, mums, dads, friends and carers who came along for our Sponsored Walk around Victory Park. We raised lots of money to help pay for our Christmas celebrations in our centre.
