At Doonfoot Primary, we cover Nursery through to Primary 7 and the capacity of our school is 396.
We are unique within South Ayrshire as we also provide a Communication Support Base for children, within South Ayrshire, who are working within the Autistic Spectrum. This is a base to allow pupils to access mainstream education to their full.
Our school also provides specialist Outreach Support to other colleagues.
Our Vision & Values

Location and Catchment
We have a number of places of interest near our school and here we have included some which might be of interest!
Greenan Castle is a 16th century tower house, on site of a possible ancient fort. The entrance lintel has the inscription, JK 1603 FMD, for John Kennedy of Baltersan and his third wife, Florence MacDowell, who owned the lands. Auld Brig o’Doon – The landscape of nearby Alloway, in particular, inspired some of Burns’ best-loved work, such as the comic ghost story Tam o’Shanter and the romantic Ye Banks and Braes o’Bonie Doon. Burns Cottage – The birth place of Robert Burns is located in Alloway, South Ayrshire, Scotland. Burns, was born there on January 25, 1759. The cottage is now a museum dedicated to him. It has been fully restored and is part of the Burns National Heritage Park. Burns Monument – Monument to Robert Burns, Ayr, 24 March 1814.
Our location is very special as we can access a variety of environments within walking distance. These include the beach, the river walk, the town, a railway walk and Belleisle Park. We are beginning to build strong links with Belleisle through work with the rangers.
Our local community is very supportive of us and we have strong links with Alloway Church and Community as well.
