It has been so lovely to welcome the children back after the summer holidays and to settle into our new classroom upstairs.<\/p>\n
Mrs Kirkwood teaches us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Mr Woods teaches us on Thursdays and Fridays. Mrs Eaglesham supports our class in the mornings and Mrs Connelly and Mrs Morrison also support our class at times throughout the week.<\/p>\n
We have started the term by creating our Class Charter, learning about our rights and how to respect others and our school. In Health and Wellbeing we are learning about the importance of being kind, encouraging others and valuing friendships.<\/p>\n
We have already shown lots of enthusiasm for our Science topic which is all about Space. We have been learning about the planets, the sun and the moon.<\/p>\n
Mr Woods is teaching us all about the Romans. We will be creating a timeline, fact files and we will even be building our own Colosseum!<\/p>\n
In maths we will be learning about the properties of different shapes and different angles. We are working on our maths fluency, using number concepts quickly and accurately. We will also look at number patterns and sequences.<\/p>\n
Our Talk for Writing text this term is The Time Slip Scarab. This is a portal story and we will be working on using lots of description in our writing.<\/p>\n
PE is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Spelling homework will be given out by Mrs Kirkwood on a Monday to be returned on a Friday. This is important reinforcement of the sounds being taught each week. Mr Woods will give out reading homework on a Friday to be returned on the following Friday.<\/p>\n
Please remember to check your child’s Learning Journal regularly. Staff share photos of learning and the children are also encouraged to share work they are proud of.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
