This can make learning at home challenging, but don\u2019t worry. There is lots of on-line advice for children and parents that can help. The \u2018Addressing Dyslexia\u2019 website, \u2018Parentzone\u2019 and Dyslexia Unwrapped are super websites, filed with helpful tips and pointers.<\/p>\n<p>When approaching tasks, try to have flexible routines, it could be a good idea to start at the same time, but to build in a variety of breaks. Be prepared for changes.<\/p>\n<p>Use games to help your child learn \u2013 on and off line. Dance mat typing is a great resource and can really help with speeding up the process of typing.<\/p>\n<p>Short-term memory is important for reading, so try some activities where they have to remember things for example:<\/p>\n<p>Memorise a list of ingredients when baking<\/p>\n<p>Memorise a short shopping list<\/p>\n<p>Build a 3-d shape from memory using Lego<\/p>\n<p>Recall certain objects when out walking<\/p>\n<p>Audio books can take away frustration and may help your child to remain interested in the story. Allowing your child to choose their own reading material can really help them to sustain their interest levels, too.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that we are also here to help and support you.
