Primary 6\/7 – Term 2<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Hello!\u00a0 We are Primary 6\/7!<\/p>\n

This year, our teacher is Miss Cowie.\u00a0 We have 23 pupils in our class: 13 P6 pupils and 10 P7 pupils.\u00a0 We have 13 boys and 10 girls.\u00a0 Miss McFarlane will work in our class on a Thursday morning where she will focus on Outdoor Learning as well as RME and Children\u2019s Rights.<\/p>\n

In P6\/7, we try hard to show that we are always READY, RESPECTFUL and SAFE.<\/p>\n

In Numeracy and Maths, we will be focusing on multiplying and dividing by multiples of 10, 100 and 1000, integers, data handling, the order of operations as well as multiples, factors and prime numbers.\u00a0 We will use a variety of active and written strategies to help us improve our confidence and understanding.<\/p>\n

We are continuing to work on our class novel, \u2018Holes\u2019 by Louis Sachar.\u00a0 We will use this novel to look at key themes such as friendship, bullying, stereotypes, kindness, equality as well as tolerance of all cultures, religions, faiths and lifestyles.\u00a0 We will also continue to improve our independent reading skills through the Accelerated Reading programme.<\/p>\n

Mr Thompson will work with our class every Wednesday.\u00a0 We will be learning how to sing and how to follow performance directions.\u00a0 Look out for a special performance of the musical \u2018Oliver\u2019 in December.<\/p>\n

Our PE days this term will be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.<\/p>\n

Our Outdoor Learning Day is a Thursday so please make sure that you come prepared with the appropriate footwear etc.<\/p>\n

We will take part in a live French lesson on the first Tuesday of every month.\u00a0 This will be led by Mrs Ledingham.\u00a0 Follow-up activities and assessments will be completed in class.<\/p>\n

P7 will continue to work on their leadership duties on a Friday afternoon.\u00a0 They will be supporting the learning in other classes as well as planning and preparing for important school events.\u00a0 Leadership tasks provides lots of opportunities to work cooperatively with others.<\/p>\n

Remember to ask us all about our learning and keep an eye on X and Teams as we will regularly share our learning on these platforms.<\/p>\n
