Our teacher is Mrs Clayton, and our School Assistant is Mrs Kerr. We have an incredibly busy year ahead and we are all very excited to learn new skills.<\/p>\n<p>Our gym days are Thursday and Friday. Homework will be reading and will be handed out every Monday (and collected in every Friday).<\/p>\n<p>This year we will be covering the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scottish Wildlife<\/li>\n<li>Kings and Queens<\/li>\n<li>Katie Morag<\/li>\n<li>The Cafe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In Literacy we will be continuing to use the Literacy programme, \u2018Read Write Inc. Phonics\u2019 to read and write independently. Alongside this, we will be doing \u2018Talk for Writing\u2019 where we will learn how to plan and write a story in different ways. Our first story is Goldilocks and the Three Bears.<\/p>\n<p>In Maths we will be using bigger numbers to count, add, subtract and double and we will be beginning to learn our times tables. We will also be exploring 2D and 3D shape, Symmetry, Money, Patterns, Time, Fractions, Measure and Data Handling.<\/p>\n<p>In Art we will learn how to create images using different media and we will discover the work of different artists.<\/p>\n<p>In RME we will explore stories and festivals from Christianity and other World Religions.<\/p>\n<p>In Science we will investigate food chains and animal habitats, properties of materials, microorganisms and much more!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.seesaw.me\/blog\/braeheadp220267\">You can follow our SeeSaw class blog by clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Primary 2!
