Our Community

Within our school community various people contribute to the experiences that we have in school. For example, our community police officer visits us and tells us about how to be responsible and how to stay safe, our school nurse makes sure that we are healthy and gives advice to our teachers if we have any medical needs and our minister comes to our school assemblies where he tells us stories which we always enjoy and can reflect upon.

Active Schools

Duncan Sturgeon

Our Active Schools Coordinator is Duncan. For more information on South Ayrshire Active Schools click here.

School Chaplain

Rev. Prentice-Hyers is a valued member of our school community. He attends our assemblies and helps us develop our understanding in our RME lessons. We visit the church for our Easter service.

School Nurse

Our school nurse is Ann McKay, who works at Barassie Primary and our associated cluster schools. Nurse McKay plays a variety of roles at our school, for example vaccinations, staff training, giving advice to older pupils about growing older and also healthy eating to the school as a whole

Police

Barassie Primary School’s community police officer is PC Harrower. He visits us on regular occasions to tell us about how to keep safe in the community, keep safe on the internet and sometimes he shows us videos or talks to our classes.
