Welcome to the Ayr Academy Library. Explore this page to find useful resources and guides for both parents and students. Students can also find book recommendations and order books through our school library service. All Ayr Academy staff take pride in fostering a reading culture throughout the school and we run a number of whole school literacy-based initiatives each year.\u00a0 \u00a0We are delighted to have recently achieved our SILVER Reading Schools accreditation and are currently working towards GOLD. We are also very excited to bring\u00a0Read Woke<\/a>\u00a0challenge to Scotland and South Ayrshire.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The library is open to all students and staff.\u00a0\u00a0 Junior pupils will have timetabled library periods but all pupils are encouraged to access the library.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Opening times<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our library is staffed by Mrs McDade<\/strong> (librarian) and Mrs Palomino<\/strong> (library assistant)<\/p>\n

The library is open:<\/p>\n

Mondays 8.30am \u2013 3.40pm<\/p>\n

Fridays 8.30am – 3pm<\/p>\n

Accessing e-books and online catalogue<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayr Academy School Library remains part of South Ayrshire Council’s public library system. All students are issued a South Ayrshire library card at the start of S1. This allows\u00a0free access to online resources\u00a0including\u00a0audio books\u00a0and\u00a0e-books\u00a0\u200busing the\u00a0Libby App<\/a>.<\/p>\n
