Please complete the short survey

Calling all parents and carers! We know the past few months of home learning haven’t been easy and we are keen to help. So to get a better idea of how we can do that, we are running a short home learning survey for parents and carers of pupils at Renfrewshire schools and council-run nurseries.

It’ll take a couple of minutes to fill out and asks how you are accessing home learning, the equipment you are using, and any issues you have experienced. We’ll use the results to work out how we can better support you next term, as pupils will still be learning at home on some days.

You can fill out the survey here

Week beginning Monday 11 May……….

Today we have posted some activities for the week ahead, rather than posting every day.

Please choose to visit the blog as and when it suits you during the week. You are able to scroll down to view previous post and revisit any favourites or perhaps discover some activities you may have missed.

We are very aware that everyone can have many different things to deal with at present, so our message is ………..Just do what you can!

We are missing you all…………………take care and keep safe!

Tuesday

Just to let you know that this is our last post on the blog for this week.

Staff have in-service days on Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday is a holiday, so we will post again next Monday.

Some of our staff are out supporting in the hubs so they will not be having a holiday this week – a huge ‘Thank You’ to them!

Have a great week everyone and keep in touch by leaving a comment for staff – we love to hear from you all. Take care everyone!

Monday’s Magic Trick

We all love magic tricks! Now you can learn a new trick at home! All you need is a plate with some water, paper towel and coloured pens… And of course – your imagination! We can’t wait to hear what you think!

Bookbug

Check out Bookbug on Twitter for ideas and links to literacy activities to do together with your child.

You could visit this site each day and choose a different activity.  Remember that children learn by repeating activities so keep offering opportunities to re-visit favourites. This will build your child’s confidence as they become more familiar with the songs and rhymes.

A night..or day at the museum

The Weekend

A nice thing to do this weekend, might be to take a trip to a museum…but they’re all closed I hear you cry! Lots of museums are offering virtual tours so you can visit them from the comfort of your own home. Have a look on the internet and see which museums you would like to visit.

I love the artist, Vincent Van Gogh, so I’m going to take a trip to the Van Gogh museum this weekend:

If you decide to visit this museum, Story Zoo has a lovely follow-up video that you can enjoy with the children.
