Hope you all enjoyed listening to the Gruffalo in Scots.
I know that you all love the Gruffalo and that you have been loving learning some Makaton signs so I thought I would let you see the story read with Makaton signs.
I have also made a few videos of me signing some of the animals that appear in the story.
Can you sign some of these animals too?
Please upload some videos onto seesaw so we can see them all.
On Monday 25th January 2021 it would have been a very special Scottish mans birthday today his name was Robert Burns. To celebrate Robert Burns birthday every year we have a special day called Burns day. Lots of you shared your celebrations with us on Seesaw, we loved to see these so thank you very much.
Here is one of our favourite stories in nursery but with a little difference can you tell me what is different about this Gruffalo story?
Is there any mums and dads that can read this story with all the Scottish words? Give it a try and let us know how you get on.

Speaking of nurseries… Here is a little story about Maisy – she went to her own nursery!
Can you see any similar things to those we have got in our playroom?
Is there anything different?
Which nursery do you like more – Williamsburgh ELCC or Maisy’s nursery?
We are so happy that you enjoyed the last PEEP sessions – the comments we got from you all was fantastic and motivated us even more! We have got another session for you today… This time it’s all about thinking and talking. Enjoy! 🙂
Hello and good morning to you all! We are delighted that you liked the video tour of our new space and we loved reading through your fantastic comments – thank you!
As promised in the previous post, the ladies have worked really hard together to create a mind map of things we would like to include in our new nursery room. Have a look and see what you think!
Why don’t you create your own mind map with different things you’d like to see in your bubbles? You could cut them out, draw them, paint them, build them – all the creativity is encouraged! You could even design a room or an area of the nursery!
Let us know how you get on, we would love to see your fabulous ideas and suggestions!
One of our friend’s mummy shared with us that their child really likes to listen to a story called “You Choose” by Pippa Goodhart and Nick Sharratt.
It’s a book about making your own choices about where you would like to go, what house you would like to have, what pets you would like – so many ideas! Mummy told us that when reading this book, he started coming up with his own stories! He used his imagination to talk about going camping near a waterfall with his gran, papa and their dog. What a wonderful idea! I bet this story would open up so many fantastic conversations!
If you would like to join in with making up your own stories and ideas, have a listen here:
Hello, everyone! We are all missing you lots and lots and we hope you are staying safe and having fun at home.
We bet you are all wondering what the nursery looks like now with all the changes! So we decided to make a little video for you (well, in two parts ;)) to show you our new room. Just remember it’s still not finished and it’s all work in progress!
Due to the government restrictions and because of the germs we had to split the whole big room into three (3) bubbles. We hope it won’t look like this for long and we’ll be able to play all together very soon!
Well – what do you think? It looks so different, doesn’t it? We are so excited! There are still some items we are waiting on to arrive. The ladies are going to create a mind map with all of the things we are hoping to get to make our new areas super cosy – look out for it later on in the week!
Is there anything missing that you would like to see? Any furniture, decorations, toys? We would love to hear from you!
PS – The walls are still very bare but that’s because we are waiting for the cork boards to be put up for all of our fantastic work to be displayed.
Please, let us know your thoughts! We would like to create a mind map with all of our ideas – suggestions from the ladies, you (all of the children) and your families, too! We will be sharing your fabulous ideas here on the blog for everyone to see!
