Can you get online?

If you can get online then please leave a comment so that we can ascertain who is accessing the blog.  🙂

I know that some families did this yesterday, but if you haven’t been in touch yet, then please say hello!  The staff team would love to hear from you.

Thursday…………………Welcome to our new Depute Heads

We would like to take a moment to introduce you to our new Depute Heads of our Early Learning and Childcare Class, Nicola Anderson and Jackie Small.

They both joined us on Monday 20 April and have been taking time to get to know the staff team via online communication.

They have also been hearing about all the wonderful children who come to Williamsburgh Early Learning and Childcare Class and all the fun and learning that goes on.

They are both looking forward to meeting all the children and families.

Brush, brush, brush your teeth!

We all know how important oral hygiene and brushing our teeth is. We all brush our teeth at nursery once a day to make sure they are strong and clean. We also know that certain foods are really healthy for out teeth – like fruit, vegetables and milk! Here’s a little video to remind us why it is important to keep our teeth nice and clean:

And here is a new toothbrushing song – if we all like it, maybe we could learn it to use at nursery!

Yummy Fruity Kebabs!

Hello everyone. We hope you are all getting on well and enjoying some time at home with your family. We are missing you all and cannot wait to see your happy faces again.

Yesterday I had a lovely delivery to my front door. One of my lovely neighbours had made fruit kebabs and was giving them to people who are stuck at home to keep them healthy!

My neighbour, who is 6 years old, selected strawberries, mango, pineapple, apple and bananas to create her kebabs.

Could you create your own fruit kebabs at home as a yummy snack?

If you make these at home please leave a wee comment and let us know what fruit you decided to use. We can’t wait to hear.

Stay safe in the sunshine

With all this lovely sunshine we are having,  please remember to stay safe in the sun and follow these rules. This is for both adults and children.

Have fun everyone and enjoy your time outdoors.

Why don’t you let us know what you are doing outside – Leave us a comment. We would love to hear from you all!

Monday’s Magic trick!

We all love magic tricks! Now you can learn a new trick at home! All you need is a plate with some water, paper towel and coloured pens… And of course – your imagination! We can’t wait to hear what you think!

A challenge for Wednesday!

We have been having such great weather. The sun is always welcome, but have you noticed that when we are outside, some areas are not in the sun?  I wonder why that is?

All the staff are setting you a challenge today……………

Can you spot any shadows when you are outside?

Can you make shadows when you are on your daily walk or taking your daily exercise?

Can you make shadows with your toys?

Can you draw round the shadows that your toys make?

Please let us know how you get on. You can take some pictures and send them to our Facebook page or leave a comment here on our blog and someone will reply.  We are so excited to see and hear how you get on.

Active coping calendar

A post from Stephanie ………

This is something Stephanie has found helpful through this difficult time, helping to keep the days as normal as they can be during these past few weeks. You could use it as a family and complete some of the tasks together.

It would be great if you could take photos and let us know how you are getting on.

Missing you all look after yourself and each other, stay safe.
