Learning through<br \/>\nhealth and wellbeing enables children and young people to:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 make informed decisions in order to improve their mental, emotional, social and<br \/>\nphysical wellbeing<br \/>\n\uf0b7 experience challenge and enjoyment<br \/>\n\uf0b7 experience positive aspects of healthy living and activity for themselves<br \/>\n\uf0b7 apply their mental, emotional, social and physical skills to pursue a healthy lifestyle<br \/>\n\uf0b7 make a successful move to the next stage of education or work<br \/>\n\uf0b7 establish a pattern of health and wellbeing which will be sustained into adult life, and<br \/>\nwhich will help to promote the health and wellbeing of the next generation of Scottish<br \/>\nchildren and young people<br \/>\n\uf0b7 and, for some, perform at high levels in sport or prepare for careers within the health and leisure industries.<\/p>\n<p>Health and Wellbeing in schools covers:<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Planning for choices and changes<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Physical education, physical activity and sport<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Food and health<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Substance misuse<br \/>\n\uf0b7 Relationships, sexual health and parenthood.<br \/>\nHealth and wellbeing cannot exist in a vacuum.
