Drone tour of the Open area, P1 and 2/1 classrooms

We wish that you were able to come into our Open area and classrooms to enable us to share all of of P1 children’s fabulous learning, play and displays! As we are not able to at this time, Mr McMaster from P5b has very kindly filmed drone footage of these areas, to enable you to tour at your own pace, and explore areas of interest. We hope this will be a great discussion point between P1 children and their families too. You may be able to spot our new House Captains and Vice Captains, where we are counting house points, and one of our classrooms also has new flooring! We hope you enjoy this tour, we would love to hear your feedback! Click on the following links or scan the QR codes to view.

There is significant evidence which demonstrates the link between children self evaluating their work and improved learning and skill development. A very well known example of this, is the story of Austin’s butterfly.

Maths Week Scotland

P2/1 have enjoyed taking part in Maths Week Scotland this week. As the theme was weather this year, we revised the days of the week by writing in our weather diaries daily and made our own daily weather forecast reports. We practised writing our numbers when we made our own thermometers. Furthermore, we learned about directions when we made windsocks. It was fun testing them out in the playground!
“This is fun!” – Alfie
“I’m going to try and write my numbers in 10s.” – Maisie (talking about her thermometer)
“My windsock is moving! That means it’s windy.” – Tavis

MWS P1 Weather forecast!

Inspired by COP26, our focus for Maths Week Scotland this year is weather and our climate. We have liaised with Met Office, and our School pupils shall be using our new weather equipment to bring you a VERY ACCURATE (🤣) forecast each day this week. Click on the link below to view the forecast for today from P1! ☀️🌧🌩❄️💨
