Grandparent Afternoon

Primary One had a lovely afternoon with their Grandparents. We enjoyed showing them all what we have learned about the 60’s and 70’s. We danced, sang, skipped and overall had lots of fun! Thank you to all the Grandparents that joined us for our special afternoon.

Anti Bullying Week

Last week we held an anti bullying week to highlight how hurtful bullying can be, how we can help each other to stop it and to make sure we fully understand what bullying means.

We had many events/activities during the week: the Pupil Council talked at assembly about bullying; we carried out a bullying survey; we asked parents to come in and help form our bullying policy; we all took part in an anti bullying poster competition; we had lessons on cyber bullying and we draw a self portrait as part of a big display we are making.

The Paisley Daily Express came to see all our work and if you missed us in the paper then have a look below!

Westies Walk for Beatson

In the afternoon, every class will participate in a walk in the area immediately around the school. The timetable below shows when the classes will be walking and you are more than welcome to join your child for their walk.

We would appreciate if you could share this link with family and friends on social media and encourage as many donations as possible.

Thank you for your continuing support.

Mini beast hunt

We went on a mini beast hunt in the playground last week! We looked really hard to find some insects!

Next week we are planning to go out again and see if we can find lots more mini beasts hiding in our playground!

Our caterpillars are getting big!

Our caterpillars have been eating and eating and eating…….. and growing and growing and growing! Look at how big they are now!! Some caterpillars look like they are ready to make a chrysalis as they are at the top of the tub.  We need to keep watching them!

New Visitors to the Assessment and Development Class

On Friday we got a very special delivery!!

5 little tiny caterpillars were waiting to meet us! We need to look after the caterpillars and watch them grow!

When we came in to class today we could see that the  caterpillars had been busy eating all weekend and were getting very big and fat. It’ll not be long until they make a chrysalis and hopefully turn into beautiful butterflies! We’ll keep you updated!

It will cost £1 to wear non uniform and all the money will go to Beatson Cancer Charity. Newton house captains will help to collect the donations. Please come along and support your child with the walk on this day. A timetable for the walk will follow.

Thank you for your support in this event.
