On Friday 17th November, P7 Newton House Captains – Libby and Hannah – collected chuck it in a bucket money from each class to raise money for Children in Need.
Everyone enjoyed participating in our non-uniform day and we had a great afternoon watching all of the fantastic talent show performances!
Well done to all of the acts who participated and a big thanks to Mr Johnston for leading the school with some great Zumba dances and to P7 for a selection of dances including YMCA and Aga Doo!
So far we have raised £437 (and counting!) Thank you to everyone for your support.
We had a great day on Friday 19th May raising money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. We had a visit from Amy who came and speak about what our donations will go towards and we had a special visit from Bella the Beatson Bee who came to say hello!
Everyone took part in a walk during the day and some parents came along to participate too. On Saturday 20th May, the staff at West and Maxwellton Nursery walked 10.1 miles from our school to the Beatson in Glasgow.
It was a great couple of days and our fundraising is sitting at an amazing £4,45! There is still time to donate through our Justgiving page www.justgiving.com/westieswalk4beatson
On Friday 19th May, pupils and staff are going to take part in a walk to support the Beatson Cancer Charity. Children can wear non uniform for a £1 donation and we ask that they try to wear something yellow on that day.
In the afternoon, every class will participate in a walk in the area immediately around the school. The timetable below shows when the classes will be walking and you are more than welcome to join your child for their walk.

We have created a Justgiving page for donations.
We would appreciate if you could share this link with family and friends on social media and encourage as many donations as possible.
Thank you for your continuing support.
A very big thank you everyone who contributed to our McMillan Coffee Morning last Friday morning. We raised an amazing £923.50!
Everyone was allowed to come in their own clothes and put a donation into the ‘chuck in the bucket’. At playtime, the Primary Sevens sold fairy cakes they had iced for 40p.
Every year the staff and pupils contribute to Accord Hospice by buying pin badges and donating to the Giant Christmas Card Appeal. This year we raised a fantastic £205.50 which will help the important work of the Accord Hospice. Thank you everyone!
Every year we raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support by holding a special coffee morning. Pupils come in their own clothes and are able to buy cakes at playtime. The staff also have a delicious selection of cakes to buy at playtime. This year we raised an amazing £850. Well done everyone!
