Primary 1 have been enjoying E.R.I.C. Time (Everyone Reading In Class).

We have been choosing books that we have read together from the class library to read with a ‘Reading Buddy’.

We can talk about the front cover, back cover, spine, title, author, illustrator and blurb before we read.  We are also beginning to discuss setting, characters and how the story makes us feel.

Primary 1 have had fun making beautiful collage and oil pastel firework art this week

! 

Primary 1 have been having lots of fun with ‘Word of the Week’! Each day we do a dance when the ‘Word of the Week’ appears on the Smartboard. This week we are dancing to ‘Let’s Do The Twist’ when we see ‘it’.

Primary 1 have been learning about 2D shapes this week.  We have enjoyed making ‘Mr Men’ and ‘Little Miss’ characters with shapes and went on a ‘Shape Hunt’ in the playground, classroom and corridors!

Primary 1 have been busy learning new sounds and practising formations.  We know ‘s,a,t,I,p,n,ck and e’ so far!

Primary 1 had lots of fun during Maths Week Scotland.  We read ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ and enjoyed number activities linked to the story.
