The children in the nursery have been exploring their outdoor environment. They investigated the forest, climbed on trees, jumped in puddles. During the session the children were role playing on the playground equipment!
Garden and Nature Equipment from Aviva
Thank you to the Parent Council Fund Raising Committee for securing funding from Aviva to purchase equipment to enhance the nature garden and playground. The children loved building the equipment.
The nursery will benefit from a planter to add to their garden area. The nature garden has been enhanced with a bug hotel, water butt, compost bin and weather station. All of this will promote teaching and learning across the curriculum. #LearningTogether.SucceedingTogether.
Cooking Club
Primary 7 pupils excelled in developing their cooking skills. Over 5 weeks the P7 children prepared a range of dishes and developed a number of skills.
The club will be offered in Term 4 so more children can participate.

Primary 6 Leading Cooking Lessons for Nursery Children
Primary 6 have used their cooking skills to lead learning. The children in P6 confidently directed and supported the nursery children to make a Fairtrade recipe! #HappyTogether.LearningTogether.SucceedingTogether.

Nursery Outdoor Area Under Construction
After AstroTurf was laid down on Tuesday, staff and children have been busy setting up the nursery outdoor area. These natural resources will enhance the outdoor learning! Still more to come so watch this space… Happy Together. Learning Together. Succeeding Together.Â
Ready Steady Cook
Wallace staff demonstrated excellent skill in the cooking classroom. The staff worked in teams to create a variety of wonderful dishes from the same set of ingredients. Determination, creativity, team work, cooperation, research and numeracy skills were all on display but most importantly everyone had fun! Well done to the winning team – Purple Plums – who cooked up a vegetable pastry starter and curry dish! Happy Together. Learning Together. Succeeding Together.Â
Eco Committee Cooking
The Eco Committee harvested carrots from the Wallace Garden and used these to make soup. They roasted peppers and cut onions to add with the carrots. The results were delicious.
Cook Along Live for Primary Five
Primary 5 participated in the Food for Thought Cook Along Live session. They enjoyed developing their cooking skills to work together to make a delicious dish. The children shredded, grated peeled and sliced a range of vegetables to make a sensational vegetable noodle pot.
Eco Committee Hard at Work
Primary 1 – Primary 7 Eco Committee members spent the afternoon weeding and cutting back the class planters in the nature garden. The children took great pride in their work and left the planters ready for the Spring season. They were very excited to harvest a patch of carrots which they will use to make a soup dish this Friday. ‘Farm to Fork’ in action! Happy Together. Learning Together.  Succeeding Together.
