Welcome to the Department of Religious Education<\/p>\n

We are supported by a number of staff from across the school (RE Generalists) who are involved in the teaching of S1-S6.<\/p>\n

Pupils have two periods of Religious Education each week in all year groups.<\/p>\n

Each year group has the opportunity to learn about their House Saints and will be provided with opportunities to visit the school Oratory for prayer moments and to celebrate Holy Mass.<\/p>\n

In S1 pupils follow the Diocese of Paisley RE course which consists of the following:<\/p>\n

Human Life: What’s it all about?<\/span><\/p>\n

The Covenant and Gospel of Mark<\/p>\n

The Sacraments and the Virtuous Life<\/p>\n

Pupils also study Judaism and Called to Love<\/p>\n

S1 Info event (RE) (2)<\/a><\/p>\n

In S2 pupils learn about the following:<\/p>\n

Islam<\/p>\n

The Prophets<\/p>\n

Luke’s Gospel<\/p>\n

Called to Love<\/p>\n

Why choose RMPS S2<\/a><\/p>\n

In S3 pupils learn about the following:<\/p>\n

Sikhism<\/p>\n

Called to Love<\/p>\n

Justice and Peace<\/p>\n

The Mystery of God<\/p>\n

They also complete the SQA Religion, Beliefs and Values award at level 4.<\/p>\n

In S4 pupils learn about the following:<\/p>\n

Called to Love<\/p>\n

Evil and Suffering<\/p>\n

Crime and Punishment<\/p>\n

Christianity<\/p>\n

Their course work allows them to achieve National 4 in Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies.<\/p>\n

Why choose RMPS S5<\/a><\/p>\n

In S5 and S6 pupils complete the SQA Religion, Beliefs and Values award at level 5 or 6. The topics covered are:<\/p>\n
