Week 2
Have you had a bedtime story most nights this week?
We had our second Leap Into Reading session in the nursery today. The children got to take part in 2 activities during the session.
The Red and Green Group visited the Skoobmobile and had a Bookbug session led by Mrs Brogan. The Blue and Yellow group took part in 2 reading activities in the nursery. Mrs Lyle read and acted out the story of ‘We are going on a Bear Hunt.’ and Mrs Lawson had the children creating their own stories using ‘Pip and Pop’.
Here are some photos of our sessions.
We would like to get some suggestions of where to go for our Nursery Summer Trip. We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey. Just click the link below.
Week 1
Learn to sing or say a nursery rhyme.
Can you retell or sing it to your friends at nursery?
Friday was the launch of our Leap into Reading Challenge. To celebrate the launch we had a visit from Anne Pitcher a local storyteller in telling Scottish stories and songs.
The children listened to stories, used the parachute to tell stories and some children worked on retelling the story of ‘The Wee Bannock.’ (A Scottish version of the Gingerbread Man) The children iced their Bannocks with faces to make them come alive!
Here are some photographs.
