Coding Club mini game jam

Our Coding club kids  spent a great day yesterday at West College Scotland participating in a Mini Game Jam. The children were asked  to design a game in a short space of time based on a given theme which they were only told at the start of the day. The theme was Space and our two teams created two very different games.

Thanks again to Dr Amanda Ford and her team for providing the opportunity for the kids.

Free school meals and clothing grant application

Applications for free school meals and clothing grants are now open. By applying for either or both provisions now parents can ensure everything is in place ahead of the new school year.

Parents must make sure their application is received by the council no later than Friday 12 July to guarantee payment of clothing grants before the schools go back or to have free school meals from the start of term.

Those parents who have previously applied for free school meals and clothing grants will be sent a letter to their home address. If there has been no change in your family circumstances that affect any benefits you may receive, you can complete and sign the declaration form and return it to the council.

If there has been a change in your family circumstances or if you are applying for the first time, visit www.renfrewshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmealsandclothinggrants to complete an application form. You will also be able to read about eligibility for free school meals and school clothing grants as well as what information you need to include with your form.

Paper copies are also available for our school and from the Council’s customer service centres.

P1/2-Sandwich lunch

National Sandwich Week!

Did you know that there is British sandwich week?  Primary 1/2 thought this was a perfect opportunity to make some sandwiches as part of their Lighthouse Keepers Lunch topic.  They were very tasty indeed!  This was a few weeks ago now, but look at our great efforts.

Fairtrade day

As a Fairtrade school, St Peter’s will be hosting a Fairtrade Day on Thursday 20th June. Children are invited to wear Fairtrade colours to school. (Green, blue – no football strips please).

There will be a Fairtrade Beat the Goalie event taking place with our brand new Fairtrade footballs.

There is no charge for this, although there will be a Fairtrade tuckshop available at lunchtime on this day. Items are priced from £1 to £1.20.

Many thanks for your continued support.
