Nursery year<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Nursery is open during the school year and has the school holidays. Notification of the sessions\u2019 holidays are given at the start of the year and in the monthly news bulletins.<\/p>\n

Due to the implementation of 1140 hours our nursery session times are:<\/p>\n

Monday \u2013 Friday 9:00am-3.00pm<\/p>\n

Capacity<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

The nursery capacity and registration is for 42 places.\u00a0 The age groups are as follows:<\/p>\n

Buttercup Room \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 2 years \u2013 3 years\u00a0 10 places<\/p>\n

Sunflower Room\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 3 years \u2013 5 years\u00a0 32 places<\/p>\n

Attendance<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Regular attendance at nursery is very important to ensure learning opportunities and new experiences for your child are not missed.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It would be helpful if parents could inform the school office by telephone if your child is not able to attend on any particular day. If your child is absent for a noticeable period of time and not contact has been made a letter will be sent to discuss your child\u2019s placement.<\/p>\n

Emergency contacts<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Parents of children attending the nursery are asked to provide, where possible, the names, addresses and all telephone numbers of two relatives\/friends who may be contacted in the case of emergency.<\/p>\n

Please remember to inform the nursery of any changes in this information.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Arrival and collection of children<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is expected that a responsible adult will bring a child to and from nursery. In the interests of your child\u2019s safety, your child\u2019s key worker must be notified if he\/she is to be collected by someone who would not normally do so.\u00a0 No child will be permitted to leave the building with an adult unknown to the staff without the parents\u2019 consent.\u00a0 In the case of an emergency, please telephone the nursery to let the staff know.<\/p>\n

Suitable clothing<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Learning should be fun and children particularly enjoy messy work. We will always try to ensure they wear aprons, but accidents will happen, so please dress your child in suitable clothes.<\/p>\n

The nursery has its own uniform, a blue polo shirt which has the nursery logo. Information regarding the uniform can be obtained at the school office or by nursery staff.\u00a0\u00a0 However, it should be noted that the uniform is optional.<\/p>\n

Please provide children with a pair of soft shoes or slippers, clearly marked with their name, which they can keep in the shoe bay.<\/p>\n

Outdoor activities take place throughout the year so it is important where possible to dress your child with suitable clothing (i.e. Winter months \u2013 boots, hat, gloves, scarf. Summer months \u2013 sun cream, hat etc)<\/p>\n

Snacks<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of the nursery\u2019s programme to promote healthy lifestyles, children are encouraged to eat balanced diets.\u00a0\u00a0 St Mary\u2019s Nursery Class promotes healthy eating and will provide nutritional snacks, milk and water for the children.\u00a0 The snack menu<\/p>\n

is displayed on the Nursery noticeboard and changes every week. Please inform staff of any dietary requirements or allergies your child may have.<\/p>\n

Voluntary contributions<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Parents\/Carers are asked to contribute a weekly donation of \u00a33. This helps the nursery provide a varied snack menu as well as helping to support the nursery to provide all the extras that make the children\u2019s experiences at nursery so enjoyable (e.g. celebrations, excursions etc).\u00a0 It should be noted that this contribution is not compulsory. Should you wish to contribute to the cost of purchasing snacks you can do so by creating a Parentpay account, please ask staff for further information.<\/p>\n

There may be other sponsored and fun events held throughout the year and this enables us to improve nursery funds.<\/p>\n
