You may be able to apply for free school meals and a clothing grant if you are a parent or guardian of a child and are in receipt of particular benefits<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What is included in free school meals<\/h2>\n

This gives your child one free meal on every day that they are at school.<\/p>\n

All children in Primary 1 to Primary 5 get\u00a0a free school meal as part of Scottish Government\u00a0policy.<\/p>\n

If your child, or the child you care for, is in Primary 6 or\u00a0above, you can\u00a0apply online for free school meals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You can apply for free school meals at any time in the school year.<\/p>\n

Free school meal\u00a0applications received now are only paid from the date the application is processed. The payment is not backdated.<\/p>\n

What a clothing grant is<\/h2>\n

A clothing grant is a payment to help you buy school uniforms. If you qualify, we’ll give you one grant for each child during any school year. Unfortunately, you cannot apply for a clothing grant for nursery children.<\/p>\n

The clothing grant is \u00a3120\u00a0per eligible primary school pupil and \u00a3150 per eligible secondary school pupil.<\/p>\n
