Children\u2019s Services<\/span><\/strong> are committed to achieving our vision of
\n\u2018Working together to get it right for children, families and
\ncommunities\u2014protecting, learning, achieving and nurturing.\u2019
\nThis education plan sets out clear priorities to realise this
\nvision. To raise attainment for all of our children and young
\npeople, while closing the poverty related attainment gap, we
\nmust work together across and beyond the directorate with
\nour partners, parents and communities. This education plan,
\ntherefore, sits as part of the wider Children\u2019s Services plan
\nand other strategic planning across the council.
\nOur \u2018excellent\u2019 progress in closing the poverty-related
\nattainment gap was recognised in the Education Scotland
\ninspection report published in February 2019. To build on
\nthis, we maintain a relentless focus on addressing inequalities
\nand improving outcomes for all children and young people in
\nRenfrewshire. The priorities and actions set out in this plan
\nhave been developed to support this aspiration.<\/p>\n

To identify our strengths and areas for improvement, we
\nhave consulted with a wide range of partners and used a
\nvariety of audit material, including data and external reports
\nfrom partners, such as Education Scotland<\/span><\/strong>. This education
\nplan outlines our priorities, the actions we will undertake
\nto support these, the intended outcomes and how we will
\nmeasure success. It is both aspirational and inclusive, and
\nreflects the needs of our children, young people and families.
\nOur plan focusses on four main priority areas: learning
\nand teaching; health and wellbeing; leadership at all levels
\nand employability skills leading to sustained positive
\ndestinations for all young people. These directly align to
\nScotland\u2019s national priorities for education. We will continue
\nto use universal approaches to raise attainment for all,
\nalongside targeted interventions to close the poverty-related
\nattainment gap. We believe our children and young people
\nare the future of Renfrewshire and, as such, it is essential that
\nwe provide them with an education which best develops their
\nskills for life, learning and work.<\/p>\n

Renfrewshire Council<\/span><\/strong> has a very clear ambition to support
\nbetter outcomes for all children and young people. We are
\nconfident that this Education Improvement Plan<\/span><\/strong> supports
\nthis ambition and reaffirms our commitment to continuous
\nimprovement and to provide the highest quality of education
\nand care for our children and young people.<\/p>\n
