I hope this finds you well.<\/p>\n

The Youth Commission’s next Retreat Day will take place in Lent, on Sunday 1st\u00a0March 2026<\/strong>. This Retreat Day is open to pupils in P4, P5, P6 and P7<\/strong>, and will run from 1.45\u20135pm<\/strong>. As you know, the Youth Commission hopes to host one Retreat each academic year in Inverclyde. As such, please note that the venue will be St Francis of Assisi church and halls, in Port Glasgow<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u200bFollowing the news from the Holy Father of the special Jubilee\u00a0Year of St Francis, we believe that the Retreat will be a great way to get the\u00a0young people involved in the Jubilee celebrations.<\/p>\n

\u200bThe theme of this session’s Retreat Days is: Our Friends, the<\/strong>\u00a0Saints<\/strong>. In the Lenten Retreat Day, we will focus on some Franciscan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saints<\/strong> and how they personify the Lenten disciplines of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. The event will include an opportunity for the young people to learn more about the saints, to have dinner together, and to celebrate Holy Mass.<\/p>\n

\u200bWe hope that many of the children and families who have supported\u00a0past events will support this one. We also hope that many more families will\u00a0register their children for this Retreat. Feedback received from families and\u00a0schools suggests that frequent promotion of these events by schools and in\u00a0parishes is important. I would be grateful if you would promote this event far\u00a0and wide.<\/p>\n

\u200bRegistration is necessary, and families can do this \u00a0by scanning\u00a0the QR code on the attached graphic<\/strong><\/p>\n
