By becoming a\u00a0<span class=\"markxbssdi89i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Lau<\/span>dato Si\u2019 School, we have pledged to place care for creation at the heart of our school life, recognising our shared responsibility to protect the environment and promote social justice for all.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">This pledge means we are dedicated to:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"x_elementToProof\"><b>Raising awareness<\/b>\u00a0among our pupils, staff, and families about the importance of sustainability, stewardship, and ecological responsibility.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_elementToProof\"><b>Embedding environmental education<\/b>\u00a0across our curriculum, helping children understand the impact of their actions on the planet and encouraging them to be agents of positive change.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_elementToProof\"><b>Promoting equality and justice<\/b>, ensuring that our actions contribute to a fairer, more compassionate world for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><b>We are a Bronze Rights Respecting School<\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">As such we are\u00a0 committed to teaching children about their rights and the rights of others, as outlined in the <b>United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)<\/b>. Our pupils learn\u00a0<i>about rights, through rights, and for rights<\/i>, recognising that every child has the right to a clean and safe environment, education, and a voice in decisions that affect them.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">We are currently working towards our\u00a0<b>Silver Rights Respecting School Award<\/b>, and as we continue this journey, we will further integrate the principles of\u00a0<i><span class=\"markxbssdi89i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Lau<\/span>dato Si\u2019<\/i>\u00a0and the UNCRC into our daily school life. Through prayer, learning, and action, we aim to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and compassionate world\u2014starting right here in our school community.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\">Together, as a community of faith and learning, we will continue to raise the profile of\u00a0<strong><i><span class=\"markxbssdi89i\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Lau<\/span>dato Si\u2019<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong>and ensure that our children grow as responsible stewards of creation and champions of justice.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>We are a Digital School\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>We are delighted to share that our primary school has been awarded the <strong>Digital Schools Award Scotland<\/strong> in recognition of our commitment to digital learning and innovation. This achievement celebrates the hard work of our staff and pupils in embedding digital skills across the curriculum, creating engaging learning experiences, and preparing our young learners for a technology-rich future.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>We are a RNRA School (<\/strong>Renfrewshire\u2019s Nurturing Relationships Approach)<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p>At the heart of nurture is a focus on wellbeing and relationships and a drive to support the growth and development of children and young people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why a Nurturing Approach?\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>We believe a nurturing approach is key to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our children and raising attainment in our school. It is also recognised as one of the main ways of supporting the needs of children and young people who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES) and childhood trauma.<\/p>\n<p>Renfrewshire\u2019s Nurturing Relationships Approach (RNRA) emphasises that relationships are at the heart of nurturing approaches and provides an implementation process for establishments to develop nurturing relationships across schools, ELCCs and communities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is Renfrewshire\u2019s Nurturing Relationships Approach?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 RNRA increases knowledge of attachment theory and an understanding that early experiences can have a significant impact on development.<br \/>\n\u2022 RNRA helps staff to understand the key importance of nurturing relationships to children and young peoples\u2019 mental health and wellbeing, social and emotional development and attainment.<br \/>\n\u2022 RNRA supports Staff to put key principles of nurturing practice in place across their establishment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We Are a Laudato Si\u2019 School As a Roman Catholic primary school, we are committed to living out the values of Laudato Si\u2019, Pope Francis\u2019 encyclical on caring for our common home.
